- T-80U is a Soviet/Russian 3rd generation main battle tank.
- The T-80, which was adopted in 1976, had high attack power and maneuverability, but it had a complicated structure and was equipped with a gas turbine engine with poor fuel efficiency, so it was replaced by the T-80A from the mid-1980s. Based on this, a prototype tank equipped with an improved gas turbine and the latest [Contact 5] explosive reactive armor was produced and adopted as the T-80U.
