- The Universal Carrier was a tracked general-purpose transport vehicle developed for the British Army, and was used extensively by the Allied forces during World War II to transport personnel and supplies, and to mount machine guns.
- Production of this vehicle began in 1934, and it is estimated that approximately 11,300 vehicles were completed by the time production ended in 1960.
- The Mk.II is a Mk.I with an additional towing device.
